First and foremost… any pet that is purchased from us and becomes unwanted may be surrendered to us for placement in another home! At Chuck’s Pet Center we are working hard to redefine what a pet store is all about.  When you walk in you won’t find animals that don’t do well in captivity.  You also won’t find puppies or kittens at our store because we encourage adopting these pets from shelters because of the pet over population problem in this country.  Three to four million cats & dogs are euthanized each year in the United States.  We would much rather see a homeless pet get a second chance.

For those customers interested in large parrots we recommend research, research and more research.  If they are still interested, we encourage adopting a previously owned bird.  There are an estimated 60 million captive parrots in this country.  Many end up physically and emotionally abused and finally abandoned or set loose.  There are six parrots that call Chuck’s Pet Center home. 

All of them came to us for different reasons.  Regardless of the reason, we opened our doors and hearts and gave all six a permanent home.
